Tivoli

The hill town of Tivoli, in the province of Rome, has been known as a summer retreat for the wealthy and elite since ancient Rome. It is located in the Tiburtine hills (Monti Tiburtini), less than 20 miles outside of the city of Rome, with a population of about 50,000. Not only does it have the beautiful Renaissance gardens of Villa D’Este, and the Emperor Hadrian’s villa, which are both UNESCO world heritage sites, but there are also thermal mineral water springs which are said to be therapeutic.
